PE: Beginners Action Figure Still Life PhotographyCommunity WeekPE: Beginners Action Figure Still Life Photography by Khallandra
Action Figure (and Ball-jointed Doll) Photography is a form of the Still Life category with the purpose of making the figure the main subject of the photography. The range of works include portraiture, story telling and even photo story comics.
Choosing a Figure
Choosing a figure to photograph can be difficult as there are some considerations, if the figure is of lesser quality (shiny, bootleg or mass produced trade figure for example) it can be quite difficult to show the figure in the best light. Take into consideration the quality of the materials, if they are very shiny the lighting will have to be adjusted, if the figure's features are a little off, consider repainting prior to taking a photograph, or taking a shot further away to hide this. Figures with obvious blemishes or poor paint jobs can also be difficult to photograph as the flaws can sometimes become obvious.
CUSTOM NENDOROID #1 - Start of the TroublesSo, as many of you may know, I own a bootleg Sakura Miku Nendoroid because of my noob beginnings...CUSTOM NENDOROID #1 - Start of the Troubles by GingerMoose
But recently, I have decided to customise this ugly baby into an adorable OC Nendo!!
Yes, that's right Sakura Miku. You're gonna get covered in PAINT. And you will enjoy it.
The OC I will recreate from this is Yami Kitsune, my baby
So far, I know I need acrylic paint and matte sealant. I will buy some from the local game model shop as soon as....
BUT QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU!!
Apparently, certain acetone nail polish removers react with the cheap bootleg PVC plastic to make toxic gloop, so I am wondering...
If anyone has made a custom Nendoroid, what did you do concerning the paint and if you removed it or just painted over?
